Description

WHAT IS THIS EVENT ABOUT?

The latest changes to CE Markings and Construction Products Regulations could cause serious confusion about standards and quality.

Any construction product within the European Economic Area (EEA) must now comply with the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR), also known as the Construction Products Regulations.

This law states that all products traded or sold in Europe must bear a CE mark, when a harmonised standard exists for this product. A CE mark indicates that a product complies with the regulation.

Just because a product has a CE Mark or Declaration of Performance doesn't necessary guarantee quality or compliance with the Building Regulations.

It only indicates that the product is consistent with its Declaration of Performance (DoP), as made by the manufacturer,” HD McKay Consulting Engineers have therefore decided to give this course and seminar to share our experiences. The Course is designed specifically for anyone involved in the Construction Industry.

WHAT TOPICS WILL BE COVERED?

  • Overview of the Construction Products Regulations.

  • What to do if there is no standard that applies to the product?

  • Do you know what the European Technical Approval (ETA) is?

  • How do you identify if a HEN (Harmonized European standard) applies to the product?

  • Conformity Assessment Procedure – what is self-declaration and does it apply?

  • Exploring the liability issues in the chain, from manufacturing to specifying to building?

  • What are the legal issues surrounding the CE standard?

  • We will focus on the manufacturer’s role in ensuring their product is satisfactorily CE marked, along with the specifier’s responsibility in investigating products to correctly ascertain their declaration of performance.

  • Worked example of a product’s CE marking.

A CPD Certificate will be issued to each candidate on completion at the end of the day.

Also included is Tea, Coffee & scones on arrival at registration, mid morning tea/coffee and lunch at 1:00pm. Registration is at 9:00am and the Seminar will start at 9:30am.

This is a prepaid event and early booking is recommended as limited places are available.
