Sewing and Fashion Workshop
Sat 15 October 2016, 10:00 – 15:00 IST
One day workshops for people looking to learn how to sew or to improve the sewing skills that they may have already. Sometimes people buy sewing machines but never use them, they get put off by all the buttons, dials and attatchments. In this workshop you will learn the basics on your machine, straight stitch, back stitch and zipper foot.
The workshop will start off by sewing a cushion, with this exercise you will learn how to cut fabric, sew with seam allowance and insert an invisible zip. I will provide remnants for this exercise, please bear in mind that these are remnants so size and fabric choice will be restricted. One invisible zip will also be provided and there will be opportunity to buy zips at wholesale prices. Once the cushion is made, participants can move onto their own projects which can be altering a garment or cutting from a commercial pattern. Please bear in mind this is a beginners class and nobody will be walking away with a ball gown. There is progression classes or workshops available after this.
