Join us at Shawbrook's Forest Stage where we will celebrate work created by our artists in residence!
Shawbrook are excited to bring to life an amazing and diverse program of performances for our Forest Festival with fortnightly performances by leading dancing artists & musicians.
Starved of live performances, this exciting series provides a wonderful opportunity for local and national audiences to feed heart and soul with unique performances by some of the best local and international dancers and musicians at our wonderful Forest Stage.

“Growing up in the West of Ireland I was surrounded by traditional music. Moving home to Ireland after seven years of studying and working in contemporary dance in the UK and the Netherlands, I was drawn to Irish stories and culture and what it can tell us about our identity as a people and a diaspora. Contemporary dance and traditional music are two very different worlds; but spending time with Eoghan, learning about his artistic world and culture has inspired me to learn more about traditional Irish music and the connection it has with old Ireland. Being half-Irish and half-American I think I’m always trying to figure out where I fit in the world, and the traditional songs Eoghan plays, connect me with Irish culture in a way that goes beyond the verbal, rational or logical. I think trad music voices a keening we cannot articulate; the soundtrack to generations of emigration and return. Who we are as the next generation of Irish artists, is still in flux. How can we pay homage to what has come before, while also setting the tone for what is to come?”
