About this event
This conference seeks to bring together policy makers, academics, community leaders and civil servants to evaluate and benchmark how the principles enshrined in legislation recognising sign languages translate into practice and to document gaps that remain. Our goal is to feed into the Irish and Northern Irish conversations to ensure full participation is possible for deaf citizens on this island. The line-up for the day includes a balance of deaf and hearing contributors from across the island of Ireland, and some colleagues from across Europe.
The languages of this conference are Irish Sign Language, British Sign Language, International Sign and English. Interpreting is provided. Live captioning will also be available on the day. Unfortunately, we will not be in a position to live stream this event.
