SIX DAYS
What exactly happened at North King Street in the 1916 Easter Rising? Seen through the eyes of Frank and Jack Shouldice of Ballaghaderreen.
About this event
Using spoken word and live cello SIX DAYS tells the largely unknown story of what happened at North King Street in Dublin through Easter Week 1916. Written, directed and performed by Frank Shouldice (Grandpa The Sniper), whose Ballaghaderreen-born grandfather (and namesake) took up position at the Jameson Malthouse. Frank is accompanied by composer Frieda Freytag and cellist Rob Campbell with a riveting soundscape designed by Sean Higgins.
"Brings home with unforgettable force a very real experience of history" -- Prof Luke Gibbons
SIX DAYS is supported by Roscommon County Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023 initiative.
