A guided walking tour of Social history and dark tales of Sligo in the nineteenth century

About this event

Join us as we explore Sligo's dark history on a walking tour revealing Sligo's turbulent past with stories of the undead, executions, jailbreaks, disease & macabre tales.

On the tour discover Sligo's connection to Bram Stoker, the Irish author, best known for his 1897 Gothic novel Dracula. 

The tragic history of Sligo Abbey inspired W.B. Yeats. 

Grim tales of crime and punishment in the nineteenth century.

Sligo Walking Tours is a member of the Independent Tour Guides Association and all walking tours are insured.

Tour duration: 1h 30 m to 2h

Tour length: 3 kilometres - wear comfortable shoes.

Minimum four people required for the tour to go ahead.
