About this event

Sligo is a hidden gem and its landscape is famous for inspiring one of Ireland’s literary legends, poet William Butler Yeats.

Knocknarea hill dominates the skyline of west Sligo and is known for its huge flat topped cairn which is believed to be the resting place of the legendary Queen Maeve of Connacht. The tomb has been classified as a Neolithic passage tomb.

Strandhill Beach is one of the best places to go surfing in Ireland. The beach is northwest- facing which means it picks up all that good quality swell from southwest to north. Unfortunately, swimming is forbidden due to rip currents.
