About this event

National Dissemination meeting on Synthetic Opioids, Department of Health 24 May 2022

SO PREP Monitoring synthetic opioids and preparing responses

SO PREP is a European-funded research project with participation from organisations and research institutions from The Netherlands, Belgium, Estonia and Finland. The aim of the SO PREP project is to provide an understanding of trends in synthetic opioid use and its consequences in Europe and to develop guidelines on good practice in monitoring and responding to this phenomenon and increase preparedness in member states.

SO PREP dissemination event

A special dissemination event to present the findings from the SO-PREP project will be held in the Town Hall in the Department of Health at Miesian Plaza, Baggot St in Dublin on 24 May. The lead partners in the project will present the findings from the research and what can be learned in preparing member states to deal with threats that may arise from increasing SO use in members states.

The organisers of the event would like to thank the Department of Health for hosting this event and Mr Frank Feighan TD, Minister of State for Public Health, Well Being and National Drugs Strategy, who will prepare a recorded greeting for the participants. Representatives from Trimbos and Correlation, two of the partners in the SO PREP project will present the findings from the project.
