About this event
The interactive 'Solutions for Plastic Problems' Workshop explores the problems caused by plastics and the impacts of plastic waste, and examines how we can sustainably manage our plastic waste, plastic reuse, plastic recycling. The workshop includes lots of engaging activities to demonstrate how individuals can take action and make changes in their lives, and encourage groups to undertake initiatives and action projects in their community.
The workshop is aimed at adults of all ages: individuals, members of community groups, business owners, and educators to raise awareness within local communities of issues with plastic waste and litter, to encourage engagement with sustainable plastic waste management and to promote changing behaviours and community action projects on recycling plastic waste.
This workshop will be in-person at community centres in County Louth and be focused on actions individuals can take:
• Introduction to Plastics: how plastic is produced, lifecycle and types of plastic, plastic sorting and recycling
• Plastic problems: examining the environmental impacts of plastics
• Sustainability and solutions for plastic problems
• Plastic waste: how we manage our plastic waste now and how we can improve this
• What individuals can do and tips for sustainability including discussion and examples
• Hands-on plastic reuse activities
Both The Rediscovery Centre and Louth LEADER Partnership will be in touch regarding the course.
