About this event
Songs From The Lough:The Acoustic Sessions will take place in Lough Rynn Castle on Monday 17th October.
Heading the bill is the great guitarist and songwriter Johnny Gallagher of the Boxty Band. Johnny's last album 2020 Vision topped the charts in many parts of Europe including France where it remained at No 1 for many weeks. While Johnny is used to playing to audiences that number in their thousands, he will be playing an acoustic set for Songs From The Lough. That is something you really won't want to miss.
Also on the bill will be one of the finest trad groups in the northwest, Meitheal, headed up by Marc Geagan and some of the best musicians in the country. Their recent album Songs of Erne received much critical acclaim and two new projects are in the works, Songs Of Erne 2 and The Short Cut To Leitrim.
Ronan Gallagher will joined by up to eight of the finest guitarists, dobro, pedal steel, mandolin players, and backing vocalists to perform an acoustic set of songs from his two albums 'Always Broke Never Broken' and 'Time Waits For No One'.
CincáR are a folk music duo from the Carpathian Basin and the Balkans and are strongly influenced by a wide range of genres like jazz, classical or oriental. They will be joined by Eero Turkka a Finnish folk musician, best known as a member of the ‘Sväng’ harmonica quartet, which has been touring around the world and whom appeared on Jools Holland.
