About this event
75 min long sound relaxation/ passive meditation session in Galway.
As we look after our physical body we need to take care of our mind and heart as well.
Take time to reconnect with your inner wisdom and hit the pause button.
Sound Bath is a fantastic opportunity to allow you to slow down your busy mind and relax your body. This is a place to connect with your heart, feelings, and needs, and check in with your body.
Sounds produced by those special instruments help you gently drift away into relaxation. Slowing down the activity of the brain, allowing for deep relaxation, creative thinking, rest, and evoking intuition. These instruments help to slow down your brain waves and stimulate the vagus nerve. This process calms down the nervous system and allows greater rest for the body and mind.
If you tried other relaxation techniques or meditation, and you have struggled to achieve a state of calm and mindfulness this session can help you to enter this state naturally and gently with the help of the sound.
Sound provides a helpful anchor for us to concentrate on, yet it can also be used passively as a relaxation.
Experience may vary from person to person, or session to session as no experience and session is the same, nor we are the same each time. However, there are some general and common benefits we may have during the session, especially if attending regularly.
On the physical level, it helps to :
- slow down the heart rate,
- slow down and calm breathing,
- improve wellbeing and mental health,
- the vagus nerve and calm the nervous system,
- reduce muscular tension,
- in some cases release of pain or reducing pain,
- calm the mind,
- of relaxation and deep rest
Regular sessions have more benefits, related to better stress management and calming down the nervous system, which leads to :
- overall health,
- immune system,
- hormonal balance,
- improved sleep,
- emotional well-being, just to name a few.
What to bring?
- yoga mat or something to lie on (sheepskin, single duvet, self-inflating camp mattress)
- blanket or something to keep you warm throughout the session
- warm socks
- flat pillow
- water to drink
- eye pillow or scarf to cover your eyes
If you do not have a yoga mat or blanket, please let us know in advance. We will provide it for you if booked a day before the session. Eye pillows are available for purchase on the day.
