Perched high above the village of Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny with amazing countryside views, lush greenery and beautiful trees, with cows grazing in the nearby fields and the rolling hills beyond, you will find Kilkenny’s newest campsite. A mix of wild camping with basic amenities along with Kilkenny’s latest casual dining eatery, The Cowshed, serving fresh home-made pizzas, BBQ menu and scrumptious sides along with draught beer, wine and cocktails as well as our incredible Sunday Farmers Market! The views from our property are endless and the sunsets are just incredible, not to mention our starry night skies!

Location

Mountain View is located halfway between Kilkenny and Waterford just 5 minutes off the M9 Motorway (Knocktopher exit). After exiting the motorway follow signs for Ballyhale, continue through the village and stay on the Waterford road. Mountain View is sign posted on your left after crossing under the railway bridge. Facilities

Camping at Mountain View is a mix of wild camping with a few added luxuries you would find in most holiday campsites such as showers and toilets, a basic scullery and access to the Cowshed during non operational hours for free electricity points for charging devices as well as wifi. Our residents can also avail of our casual dining popup for take away or dine in as well as our bar serving draught beer, wine and cocktails.

Campsite Rules

We are a family run holiday park set in a unique natural location on the hills of South Kilkenny. We are a private campsite catering for couples and families and only accept bookings from families or couples. We do not cater for large groups. We have a strict noise curfew on our site from 12 midnight to 8 a.m. We reserve the right to decline or terminate the booking of any guest(s) whose party make-up or behaviour interferes, or may potentially interfere, with the general comfort of other guests. There will be NO refunds made in this event. Mountain View and its facilities are intended for couples and family breaks.

Fires/Cooking

Because of the natural surroundings open fires and naked flames are prohibited. Barbecues are allowed as long as they are off the ground and burning gas or charcoal only.

Please note: camping tickets do not include entry to the event. Tickets for the South African Gathering 2022 event must be purchased separately.
