Audience – Transition Year, 5th and 6th year female students. Second level teachers.

10:00 – 10:05 – Welcome from the Chair

10:05 – 10:15 – An Introduction to Making Space Programme – Prof Andy Shearer

10:15 – 10.35 – From Galway to NASA, Dr Jacqueline Keane, Astrobiology Research Group, NASA

10:35 – 10:55 – Human Space Physiology, PhD Kiera Ward, Athlone Institute of Technology

10:55 – 11:15 – Break (Tea/Coffee)

11:15 – 11:35 – Career in Space, Dr Niamh Shaw, CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory Cork and European Space Agency.

11:40 – 12:00 – Second Level Space Projects. Stephanie O Neill, ESERO Ireland; focus on Skills referencing projects e.g. CanSat, Space Week, AstroPi, Space Careers;

12:00 – 12:20 – EIRSAT-1: Building Ireland's first satellite, Jessica Erkal and Rachel Dunwoody, University College Dublin

12:20 – 13:20 – Lunch Break; Opportunity to meet with Irish Space Science & local Astronomy Groups (Making Space will provide the lunch.)

13:20 – 13:50 – A Panel Discussion with our speakers, followed by audience questions.

13:50 – 14:50 – Workshops

14:50 – 15:00 – ENDS and Final message from NUI Galway.
