Sports Injury and Prevention Workshop

South East Spine and Sports Injury Clinic Physiotherapist James Carolan and Personal Trainer Stephen Hurley together with Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership are running a sport injury prevention workshop to give sports coaches ,players and athletes information and knowledge how to prepare, perform better and prevent injury. This workshop will be a mix of theory and practical so wear comfortable clothing and footwear. The content is mainly directed towards coaches but individuals are welcome to attend also. The workshop will take place at Stephen Hurley Health and Fitness Unit 3 Croghan Industrial Estate.

The workshop will focus on Injury Prevention and Athletic Development for Youth Athletes.

The Key areas covered will be:

Common Injury Trends in Youth Athletes (Theory)

Suitable Pre-habilitation Exercises for Youth Sports (Practical)

Developing Young Athletes (Theory)

Athletic Development for Team Sports (Practical)

Stephen Hurley

Stephen Hurley, is a Personal Trainer and owner of Stephen Hurley Health and Fitness Arklow, Co Wicklow. He established hi business in 2011, within this time he has worked with hundreds of general population clients, special population clients, high performance athletes and rehabilitation clients. The business has grown year on year and continues to offer high quality coaching in a semi private training environment.

James Carolan

James has been working as a Chartered Physiotherapist for 16 years. He has degrees in Sport Science and Physiotherapy and more recently completed a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy in Perth. He has worked in various sports such as the GAA, Rugby, AFL and International Rules. He has a keen interest in Injury Prevention in the Sporting Population.
