2nd album blues...

I've been doing standup for a couple of years now but was starting to feel very self conscious doing the same set all the time. Doing Ciaran's course really helped me to develop new material, gave me the confidence to try ideas I had but was too afraid to try out on stage.

His input is always very useful and he even spots good punchlines in my material that I never would have realised were there. He creates a great atmosphere in the class that is very conducive to developing material by playing funny improv games that allows the class to gell and by giving vital tips about set/joke structure such as the rule of 3 and how to introduce oneself to the audience to make that connection.

I'd recommend this workshop to not only people with no stage experience starting out but also more experienced comedians looking to improve their craft.

Testimonials:

Ciaran McMahon has spent years performing and teaching stand up comedy. Both teacher and performer, to Ciaran, the style he uses on stage is primarily to form a common connection between him and the group/audience. The desire is to impart his experience and knowledge to others so that they too can learn to enjoy one of the finest tools of communication. In its purest form, comedy excites and delights but its application to education and communication he has proven to be second to none.

’ On the first workshop many people were nervous but with all the exercises they soon realised that they had found a great bunch of guys and girls from all walks and everyone brought their own kind of humour to the table. The other people were, ‘Great, very helpful in the creative process.’

They have a great social element where people relax and enjoy themselves while learning,
