About this event
Kerry Library is delighted to host an introduction to genealogy workshop with genealogist and historian Lorna Moloney in Tralee Library on February 18th. It's the ideal introduction to tracing your family tree.
The workshop is free but attendees must register in advance.
How will we begin researching your family & its’s past?
We begin by studying Irish family history in depth and learning about many components of it, such as the census (particularly for the years 1901 and 1911) and a variety of other records, such as civil and catholic parish register records, property records, etc. When researching your family history, using sources is essential. To guarantee that the information we use is reliable and accurate, we should always take the source’s credibility into account. These events will detail how to use sources and which sources to use in order for you to get an in-depth historical account of your family tree.
