STEPS & Microsoft DreamSpace - Primary School: Think like an Engineer
Event Information
About this Event
Through an immersive, alternative teaching and learning experience, DreamSpace at Microsoft Ireland will inspire students and teachers to see technology in exciting new ways, helping them to realise the full potential of what they can achieve.
WHAT: STEPS & Microsoft DreamSpace - Primary School: Think like an Engineer takes place during STEPS Engineers Week 2021, with this session focusing on the theme of ‘Sustainable Programming’.
AGE: Primary school pupils aged 9-12.
HOW TO JOIN: You will be sent a link to the Teams Live Event upon registration, and again in a reminder email closer to the day. You will also be sent detailed joining instructions to share with your students.
- What does "unplugged" mean?
To participate, pupils need access to join us live (via school or at home) but the tasks will be “unplugged” which means that to take part in the challenge activities, they won’t need to use a computer, just a pen and paper.
Although there is no computer involved, they will be encouraged and challenged to computationally think whilst having lots of fun and learning new skills.
With the unplugged activities focused on addressing sustainability, students will complete tasks that solve problems just like our engineers often have to do.
