The launch of the debut album by Sun Collective—an eight-piece ensemble of classical and jazz musicians drawn from Ireland’s leading groups, including members of Crash Ensemble. They’re led by songwriter and composer Caimin Gilmore, who's currently on tour as double-bassist with Lisa Hannigan (At Swim world tour).

Their debut album, written by Gilmore and Shane Sugrue, was carefully developed and recorded over the course of four years at studios in London (SARM West, formerly Island Records & Miloca Studios), Dublin (Steve Shannon, The Hive) and Australia.

Sun Collective’s songs are harmonically rich and densely orchestrated for string trio, two pianos, and three high male voices punctuated by double bass and percussion. Their Indie-folk-music draws on their orchestral and jazz backgrounds with influences from contemporary classical music.
