This hike is being organised for Limerick Swimming Club members

The hike will start at Clydagh Bridge car park on the North side of the Galtees. Initially the walk will start on a small laneway before climbing a style and heading for the open hillside.

The hike up Cush is steep but will be well worth the views from the top as the sun starts to drop below the horizon. As dusk sets in we will continue into the Galtees towards Bohreen Lough where we will take a short break to take in the scenery and serenity of hiking in the dark. The walk will continue around to loop back on to the road with a nice stroll back to the cars along the lane and plenty of time for chats.

As much of the hike will be done in the dark we would ask you to bring a torch with you. Please bring rain gear and warm clothes for when we stop at the summit. It does get a lot cooler once the sun goes down. You will also need sturdy walking boots and a drink of water and some snacks. The terrain will be rough and is not on path so a walking shoe/boot with ankle support is recommended.

The walk should take approx 4 hours depending on the group pace.
