Event description
Teiripe Sarlaoch (Irish Superhero Therapy) is proud to host this exciting introduction for young people, and those young at heart!

About this Event

Did you ever want to become a Superhero? Did you ever wish you could get magical powers or travel through the universe, across time and space?

Dr Janina Scarlet, developer of Superhero Therapy, invites you to attend this exciting exploration of this approach, and learn how it can help you to recover from common psychological and emotional problems by showing your concerns are mirrored in the stories of extraordinary superheroes from fiction.

Superhero Therapy incorporates the vivid and deeply-connecting themes and characters in fantasy and science fiction, along with other elements of pop culture, and has been used in therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. So, whether you dream of fighting as an Avenger, are looking out of your window for that blue box, or remain hopeful that your letter to Hogwarts just got lost in the owl post but will still come, Superhero Therapy can help you explore the difficulties you experience in life, tying in these themes with evidence based therapeutic principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and more.

This event is aimed at adolescents and young adults, but there’s no age limit!

Copies of Dr Scarlet’s books Superhero therapy, Harry Potter therapy, and Therapy Quest will be available on the day, which Dr Scarlet will be available to sign if you wish.
