Taking a neurobiological perspective to
In this seminar we consider the neurobiology of stress and anxiety it's impact on behaviour and what we can do to support our children. We will consider what the student is trying to communicate about the challenges they face and why it can be so challenging for ust o interpret their communication early enough to prevent the challenges that present.
We will consider how we can support our children and will offer a range of regulatory tools and strategies that we can employ with our children and for ourselve.
This seminar is based on the work of Bruce Perry ( Neurosequential Model) and Stephen Porges ( PolyVagal Theory ) and is presented in a fun and accessible way throughout.
Marie Byrne has over 30 years experience as a wife, mother, teacher and therapist to people with autism/autistic people. In this live event she brings the insights of her lived experience to parents of young people who are new to the world of Autism.
Marie believes in respecting and working with the Autism perspective and in empowering parents and professionals to consider the perspectives and rights of the Autistic person at all times.
While she is the person speaking, she brings insights from the many autistic people she has loved and worked with over the years and acknowledges the roles of her husband and son, in particular, in educating her in the Autism Perspective.
