About this event
Who is the webinar for?
It is for teachers and SNAs in a mainstream education setting who will have a child using hearing technology in their class next year, who follows a listening and spoken language (LSL) route.
The following topics will be covered:
• What is the foundation required to enable the child to become an active member of their class?
• How can we continue to expand the child’s listening and language within a mainstream environment?
• What can we do as teachers and/or assistants to enable him/her to become an independent learner?
• Looking at a range of strategies to facilitate the child’s ability to make friends
There will also be a discussion with a teacher from the Visiting Teacher service for children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing which will include:
• Planning and delivering support
• Suggestions and guidance on how to work appropriately with hearing technology such as a remote microphone
This webinar will be FREE to all attending as it is funded by Our New Ears (ONE). ONE is an entirely voluntary and self-funded group which partners with Chime. The funding is possible due to the generosity of the families and friends of ONE.
