We are delighted to welcome Klaus Laitenberger for this online talk on food gardening as part of the Sustainable Skerries Food Festival .

About this event

Klaus is a renowned organic grower and has written books on growing Vegetables for the Irish Garden and Fruit and vegetable growing in Polytunnels and glasshouses.  His latest book is "The Self-Sufficient Garden".

Klaus will give tips on extending the growing season with successional sowings and the use of a Polytunnel or Greenhouse.

Also: tips on how to avoid pests and diseases and how to deal with weeds.

Funded by a grant from the Communities Integration Fund; the talk is free, donations for the work of Sustainable Skerries welcome.

From his website, Green Vegetable Seeds:

Klaus Laitenberger is the author of three vegetable gardening books. He was the Head Gardener at the Organic Centre in Co. Leitrim and restored the gardens of Lissadell House in Co. Sligo. He is a regular contributor to the Irish Garden magazine.

Klaus also works as a gardening consultant and gives lectures and talks nationwide on growing food. His books have attained excellent reviews from other horticulturists and top gardening newspaper & magazine writers and other gardeners alike.

And if you think he seems familiar - you may have been among the lucky ones who attended his previous (real-life) course in Skerries in September 2019, or his previous online course for us earlier this year.
