Tickets

Each ticket* includes:

  • B&B at the Strand Hotel Limerick on Friday 11 October and Saturday 12 October 2019 (for two people sharing);
  • Attendee ticket for the SYS Annual Conference 2019 on Saturday 12 October (x2); and
  • Attendee ticket for the SYS Gala Ball 2019 on Saturday 12 October 2019 (x2)

*There are a limited number of triple rooms/tickets available on a first come/first served basis.

Terms and Conditions

1. The annual Society of Young Solicitors (SYS) Conference (the Conference) will take place on the weekend of 11 – 13, October 2019 at the Strand Hotel, Limerick. The Conference fee is €210p.p.s. for two nights’ accommodation (with breakfast), gala black tie dinner and conference materials.
2. Conference tickets will only be available online via Eventbrite. All delegates will be expected to pay the full price for the Conference fee at the time of purchasing the Conference ticket. Funding of the Conference fee by a delegate's firm or employer is purely a matter between those parties.
3. Tickets to the Conference are sold on a non-refundable basis.
4. The Conference is an event for qualified and trainee solicitors only. The SYS reserves the right to cancel the ticket of anyone who is found not to be a qualified or a trainee solicitor and in the event of such cancellation, no refund will be provided.
5. The SYS reserves the right to make changes to the Conference (including the identity of the speakers) or cancel the conference and/or any part thereof at its discretion at any time.
6. The SYS and the Strand Hotel reserve the right to refuse entry to the Conference and/or the gala black tie dinner to any person. If any attendee at the Conference is found to be behaving in a manner deemed unsociable, disorderly, illegal, reckless or dangerous, in breach of these terms & conditions, the rules and regulations of the Strand Hotel or any instructions or directions given to you by the SYS or Strand Hotel staff at the Conference, you will be removed from the Conference without refund. If appropriate, such persons may be reported to An Garda Siochana.
7. In the event of any accident or injury you hereby agree to hold harmless and keep indemnified the SYS, SYS committee members, and SYS sponsors namely Brightwater, against all actions, costs, expenses, claims and demands in respect of injury, fatal or otherwise, loss or damage, to person or property of yourself or any guests accompanying you, however caused or arising out of or in connection with your attendance at any of the Conference events.
8. The SYS does not accept responsibility for any damage or loss to property of delegates or their guests attending the Conference.
9. Neither the SYS nor the Strand Hotel shall be liable, whether in contract or otherwise, for any indirect consequential or economic losses or loss of profits howsoever arising (including negligence).
10. The Strand Hotel will assist delegates, where reasonably possible, with the storage of equipment etc. The Strand Hotel and the SYS do not accept any liability for loss or damage to any item of equipment, furniture, stock or the like. All materials must be removed from the Strand Hotel. A charge may be applied at the option of the Strand Hotel in the event of material being left behind.
11. Individual delegates are responsible to the Strand Hotel for any damage caused to their allocated rooms or the furnishings, utensils and equipment, or any other part of the Strand Hotel.
12. Delegates must pay directly to the Strand Hotel all incidental costs (such as food or drink costs, parking fees, etc) incurred by that delegate. Such costs must be settled with the Strand Hotel at or before checking out of the Strand Hotel. The SYS does not accept any responsibility for any costs incurred by a delegate.
13. Delegates may want to consider taking out an insurance policy to cover cancellation, damage, third party liability and other eventualities beyond their control.
14. If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the invalid or unenforceable provision shall be severed or amended in such a manner as to render the rest of the provisions and remainder of these terms and conditions valid or enforceable.
15. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Irish law. The courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any matters or disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions.
