Event description
A personal development writing workshop for anyone that has made the choice to be childfree and would like to deepen their awareness of this

About this event

Combining reflective writing, personal development and shared discussion, this unique one-day workshop aims to provide you with:

 A space to connect with others that have also chosen the childfree road in life

 A space to reflect on your experiences and feelings in a supportive environment

 A space to embrace your identity, values and opportunities related to being childfree

 No previous experience of creative or reflective writing is needed

 Sharing of work will be encouraged but always optional

 Emphasis is on process and exploration, not the production of polished work

The workshop is open to participants both inside and outside of Ireland, but please note that due to insurance limitations we are unfortunately unable to include applicants based in the USA.

Your Facilitators are: Margaret O’Connor (Are Kids For Me Counselling Service, MA Gender, Culture & Society) and Simon Forsyth (Nozomi Counselling & Psychotherapy https://nozomicounselling.com/ Practitioner Cert Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes).

Both are IACP-accredited therapists and lecturers at PCI College. They are passionate about the normalisation of the childfree choice in society.

Organizer Are Kids For Me Counselling Service

Organizer of Taking the Road Less Travelled: Embracing Your Childfree Life

I am a fully qualified and accredited therapist who works with people who are unsure if they want to become parents or not, and those who need support to embrace the childfree life. My aim is to help those who are unsure about parenthood, for whatever reason, to make the right decision for them. I can do this by providing information and an independent, non judgemental space. My only aim is to help you make the right decision for you.

I also host 'The Are Kids For Me Podcast' where I speak to Irish people with a wide range of personal and/or professional experience of answering this question.
