ADULT TAP LESSONS in DUBLIN

Location: Inchicore Community Sports Centre, Presbytery, Bulfin Rd, Dublin 8

THURSDAYS

Jan 8th - Feb 12th (6 classes)

6-7pm: Beginners Tap (€80)

7-8pm: Improvers Tap (€80)

8-9pm: Intermediate/Advanced Tap (€80)

DETAILS:

BEGINNERS course is ideal for complete beginners, for those who have learned a few steps but lack comprehensive technique, or those who feel very rusty. Each week builds upon what you learned the week before. Explore the fundamentals of tap technique, basic steps, fun combinations and a dance routine!

IMPROVERS class is intended for students who have already taken at least one full academic year of Beginners Courses, or for experienced tap dancers looking to brush up their skills. We will keep learning new steps and combinations beyond what you already know, introduce some rhythm-building and improv, and learn a new routine!

INT/ADVANCED class is for experienced tap dancers, or by invitation from the teacher. Fast-paced, with more complicated rhythms, musicality, trick steps, and a wide range of styles! If you are interested in joining Int/Advanced Class, please contact Colleen before booking.

If you are unsure which level you should pick, please contact Colleen for advice!

I also offer classes on Tuesday nights in Dublin1 (Beginner & Improver) which can be booked here.

FAQs

What ages are welcome in class?

Tap classes are intended for ages 18+ . I often have a wide age range in my classes, with students in their teens up to their 60s!

What are my transport options for getting to and from the class?

Dublin Bus: G1 & G2 (formerly buses 13 and 40)

Luas Red Line: Goldenbridge or Drimnagh

Parking: Free street parking

Do I need my own tap shoes? What should I wear to class?

Students are expected to buy their own tap shoes, a basic pair costs about €35 at Dance World (on Parnell St or in Ranelagh). If you would like to try a few classes before investing in tap shoes, I recommend wearing shoes with a smooth, non-rubbery sole, that has a separate heel and toe (like brogues, not flats). Dress comfortably, you'll work up a sweat! And bring a water bottle!

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Contact dance instructor Colleen by phone at 086-451-5833, or by email at colleen@tapdancedublin.com

I booked into the class, but now I can't go! Can I get a refund?

Course fees are fully refundable up until 7 January 2025.

I booked into the wrong class! What should I do?

Email Colleen at colleen@tapdancedublin.com and specify which class you actually want, and she will transfer your booking, provided the class is not full.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please either bring your printed ticket, or have it on your phone.

Can I attend class on a drop-in basis?

Priority entry goes to students purchasing the full course, however drop-ins are welcome when space is available. Drop-in rate is €15 per class, cash only at the door. Contact Colleen for availability.

Do you teach on other nights or locations?

I also teach Tuesday nights in Dublin 1, booking details are available here (Beginner and Improvers classes only).
