TCLCT book club: translated literature
Event Information
About this event
Please join us to discuss Winter in Sokcho by Elisa Shua Dusapin, translated from the French by Aneesa Abbas Higgins.
It’s a bitterly cold winter in Sokcho, a tourist town on the border between South and North Korea. A young French Korean woman works as a receptionist in a run-down guesthouse. One evening, an unexpected guest arrives: a French cartoonist determined to find inspiration for his latest book in this desolate landscape. The two form an uneasy relationship.

About our book club:
We meet at 6:30pm on the third Tuesday of the month to discuss a piece of recently translated literature, usually fiction. New members are always welcome and may drop in and out as it suits. Each meeting lasts about one hour. The books we choose are available from good bookshops and libraries.
