Event description

Description

This event has been organised to launch the research report entitled Teacher Assistant Partnership in Special Schools. The assistant role is widely acknowledged to be an under-researched aspect of special education provision nationally and internationally. This cross border study, conducted by Dr Una O' Connor Bones and Dr Christine Shannon of Ulster University and Dr Anna Logan of Dublin City University, and funded by the Standing Conference on Teacher Education North and South (SCoTENS) represents a unique all-island exploration of teacher-assistant collaboration from the perspective of the assistant

The event will encompass a presentation of the research project and the findings and recommendations arising which will be of interest to school staff, school leaders, inspectors, policy makers, teacher educators and researchers, and other relevant stakeholders. We hope that the event will provide a valuable opportunity to gather feedback as well as experiences and opinions on research on this area, and to initiate discussion on key considerations, priorities, and opportunities for policy, practice and research.

Coffee will be available from 11am and the event will conclude with a light lunch and further opportunity for discussion and networking at 1pm.

Places are limited so please register soon.
