Teacher CPD: Exploring complex issues

Overview

Should wind farms be built in spite of the objections of local residents? How 'green' is the green transition anyway?

As we decarbonise our economies, we need to grapple with complicated questions that don't have easy answers. These kind of "wicked problems" can offer great opportunities for student-led thinking and activity, but also need to be handled with care, respect and from a diversity of perspectives.

This free teacher CPD workshop will support teachers to hold space for morally complicated conversations on development, climate, human rights and justice. We will share some resources and approaches to help your students to see issues from a variety of perspectives.

This workshop is ideal for teachers of CSPE, SPHE, Geography, History or Climate Action and Sustainable Development.
