Event description
A talk exploring common difficulties faced by adolescents with developmental language disorder and strategies to help them learn

About this event

This talk will explore common expressive and receptive language difficulties experienced by adolescents with developmental language disorder or related disorders. We will also discuss some strategies that can be implemented both at home and in the school environment to help students become more successful learners.

Oonagh is qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist. She obtained an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and subsequently gained certification as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). Oonagh has gained considerable clinical experience working with a variety of pediatric profiles, for example, children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders and Down Syndrome, children with speech sound disorders/delay, children with Specific Language Impairment (SLI) and younger children with language delay.

The talk is part of South Dublin Libraries' Toys, Technology and Training initiative (TTT). You can find out more about this initiative on our website here: https://www.sdcc.ie/en/services/sport-and-recreation/libraries/library-projects/

Please note:

For this event, priority is given to people living in the South Dublin County area. This may lead to the cancellation of your ticket. We appreciate that this may cause disappointment, but hope for your understanding in this matter. Thank you
