This is a very unique opportunity to see one of Irish traditional music's most celebrated duets in a intimate and acoustic setting. Only 50 seats available, so make sure to book early!

Mick O’Brien (Uilleann pipes, whistle and flute)

Mick is a highly regarded performer and teacher of the Uilleann pipes, whistle and flute, bringing his own style and sense of enjoyment to audiences and pupils alike.

Mick has recorded and broadcast extensively both at home and abroad as a soloist and with various artists. Though Mick has delved into various different music genres, it is as a traditional artist that he is best known.

With his daughter Aoife Ní Bhriain and Emer Mayock, they released two albums of tunes from the Goodman Manuscripts, bringing to life music collected in the Munster region in the mid 1800’s by Canon James Goodman.

Mick and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh have worked for many years creating a special fiddle and piping duet.

As Anita Botman says in a review of their first album “Kitty Lie Over”

Now I know why this album is so well loved and has such raving reviews. It's an inventive album and a classic at the same time. I don't like the term "must have" but it does apply to this album.”

In 2023, Mick received the coveted award, “Gradam Ceoil na Bliana” (Musician of the Year) from TG4.

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh (fiddle, 10-string Hardanger d'Amore)

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh is a composer/performer who plays a 10-string Hardanger d'Amore and live electronics.

He has made twenty albums to date, and has performed at the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall.

As a solo artist, in addition to embodying a world of traditional Irish music, he writes and performs his own material, and writes his own code for improvising with live electronics. In duos with Dan Trueman (Princeton University), Seán Mac Erlaine, This is How we Fly, Garth Knox (ECM) and Thomas Bartlett, he has created a large body of newly-composed material for his unique instrument, while with Mick O’Brien, Brendan Begley, The Gloaming and others he has created many much-loved traditional Irish music recordings.

He has performed with the likes of Laurie Anderson, Jim O'Rourke and Bill Frisell, and works with New York contemporary music ensemble Contemporaneous as a guest soloist. He has written music for film (Return to Montauk, Brooklyn) and theatre (Gare St Lazare Players Ireland, The Abbey Theatre, Landmark Productions). He was commissioned by the National Concert Hall Dublin to create an installation of live music for EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan, which ran continuously for six months
