Complete Athlete in collaboration with Shane Finn are hosting a weekend runner's retreat suitable for runner's of all levels and experience.

About this Event

Enjoy a weekend in the breath-taking landscape of Delphi Resort in the heart of Connemara, where you can enjoy the perfect combination of relaxation while learning how to enhance your running performance.

Hosted by Sherry and Brigid in collaboration with ultra-marathon runner Shane Finn, this retreat promises to have you leaving with Performance enhancing techniques through our unique workshops focusing on nutrition, movement and mental skills training.

What is included:

  • 2 night stay in the 4* Hotel
  • Breakfast x 2, lunch x 2 and 2 course evening meal x 2 in the 814 Restaurant
  • A Morning Juice, mid-afternoon smoothie, teas and nutritional snacks each day

Workshop 1: A Practical Approach to Running, Endurance & Injury Prevention – Delivered by en-durance athlete Shane Finn. This workshop will cover topics such as best training practices & meth-ods, recovery for athletes, injury management & prevention, mindset & goal setting and fitness for running & fitness for life.

Workshop 2: Sport Nutrition – Nutritional Therapist and Sports Nutritionist Brigid will deliver an engaging and informative session focusing on optimal nutrition to enhance your fuelling and recovery from training. We will discuss common nutritional barriers to fitness and peak performance and how to overcome them. Ending with a Q&A session

Workshop 3: Movement 360 –led by Complete Athlete founders Sherry and Brigid. This is the Complete Athlete signature workshop, focusing on the fundamental techniques and movements of running, while cultivating a mind, body and breath connection. We guide you through a flow that will move your joints through their entire range of motion, stimulating the connective tissues while also increasing strength and mobility.

The core elements of this class are

• Learning how to find postural alignment and build postural strength

• Developing your individual functional movement patterns

• Learning how to fire and improve the function of the body’s deep layer stabilising muscles

• Improving the coordination, balance, strength and mobility to enhance athletic performance

Workshop 4: Myofascial Release – led by Sherry and Brigid. Fascia is the living seam system that links everything inside you together. This workshop is designed for deep body work and to unlock fascial restrictions using therapy balls to knead out tightness. This deep tissue work softens fascial restrictions and leaves you with a feeling of spaciousness, an ease in joints muscles and your fascia.
