The ebooks crisis in Ireland
Event Information
About this event
Since October 2020 Irish libraries have been highlighting the problems raised by the #ebooksos campaign in the UK. While many of these problems pre-date COVID-19 the pandemic has exacerbated them and underlined the need for change.
Join Yohanna Anderson @Hohoyanna (ebooksos founder), Jennie Rose Haplerin @little_wow (Library Futures @library_futures) and a host of speakers from Ireland and abroad to discuss the problems with ebooks and what libraries can do about them. The first session will outline the national and international experience with speakers from the USA, Germany, the UK and Ireland. The second session will address the issues from a sectoral perspective with speakers from academic, public and special libraries. Participants will learn about the issues, share their experiences and discuss what libraries can do to address the problems with ebooks. Register now – spaces are limited. Recordings will be made available shortly afterwards.
This is a free Library Association of Ireland @LAIonline event
