The National Museum of Ireland is delighted to welcome Dr. Eve Morrison to present the F. Glenn Thompson Memorial Lecture 2019.

About this Event

The Military History Lecture in honour of the National Museum’s late colleague, F. Glenn Thompson focuses on Irish World War One Veterans and Irish Separatists in 1919. Join historian Dr. Eve Morrison for her presentation “‘In Ireland there is no Peace’: Irish Great War Veterans and the Irish Separatists in 1919”, which will be followed by a short Q & A session.

Eve Morrison is a 20th Century Irish historian specialising in the Independence struggle and Civil War period (1913-1923), including the social and cultural memory of those events. Her research also engages with various theoretical concerns and scholarship relating to Irish history, memory studies and oral history. She completed both her BA and PhD at Trinity College Dublin. Both her doctoral studies at T.C.D. and postdoctoral fellowship (University College Dublin) were funded by the Irish Research Council. In October 2018, she was appointed as the Canon Murray Fellow in Irish History at St. Catherine's College, University of Oxford. She is currently writing two books.
