2022 marks the centenary of the outbreak of the Irish Civil War.
To commemorate the event, Kevin Street Library will host a two-part lecture series on the Civil War by Cathy Scuffil, Dublin City Council Historian-in-Residence.
This first lecture will discuss the period from the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty to the Battle of the Four Courts.
Catherine (Cathy) Scuffil is a Dublin-born historian with a strong interest in local history. She holds an honours Business and Management degree as well as a Certificate and a Masters in Local History from NUI Maynooth.
Cathy was involved in a wide range of community events during the 1916 Rising Centenary Commemorations. She also researched the Rialto/Kilmainham 1916 Commemoration photographic exhibition as well as the publication '1916 in the South Dublin Union' for St. James’s Hospital. Cathy is currently working as Historian-in-Residence with Dublin City Council for the South Central and South East Areas.
