Jane Austen, one of the world’s most famous authors, spent most of her life in the historic and beautiful county of Hampshire. Its houses, countryside and people provided the inspiration for many of her novels.

2017 will mark the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s death, and No.1 Pery Square invites you to celebrate with a specially dedicated Afternoon Tea in The Drawing Room at No.1 Pery Square on Saturday 23rd September 2017 at 2pm.

  • Welcome address by curator of Jane Austen 200 - Limerick and Austen author, Rose Servitova.

  • Editor & journalist, Tim Bullamore joins us on his Austen world tour for a reflection on the enduring legacy of Jane Austen entitled "The Joy of Jane"

  • Serving of afternoon tea delights.

  • Comedy Shenanigans present "Mr Elton's Proposal"

  • Kim Arnold presents a talk "Obstinate Headstrong Girl!: Maxims & Manners in the novels of Jane Austen"

  • The wonderful Myles Breen discusses "Customs & Etiquette of the Georgian Gentleman"

  • Attendees will also receive a customised keepsake!

This is sure to be a fantastic afternoon of history and heritage along with some amazing afternoon tea delights and is certain to delight all literary and Austen enthusiasts right here at the heart of Limerick's Georgian Quarter.
