Description
8km This iconic swim starts under the shadow of Blennerville Windmill where the emigrant ship The Jeanie Johnston loaded her passengers for America . The swim traces the path down through Tralee Bay mirroring the last sight of Ireland that most of The emigrants would ever again see . The swim will finish in Fenit . It is an 8km swim with good tidal assistance .You should have done a verified minimum of 5km in the open water THIS year to be eligible .
3km . The swim will join the 8km swim along the way and finish in Fenit . You should have completed 2km open water swim this year . There will be refreshments afterwards . The cost for the 8km swim is 40 euro and the 3km Swim is 25 euro with proceeds going as usual to RNLI Fenit Lifeboat . It will be strictly pre registration with a booking deposit of10e plus fee and pay the balance on the day of the swim. Entries will close on Tuesday 5th of September . The swim is of course weather and numbers dependent !! In case of poor weather alternative dates are 9th , 23rd and 24th September . High Vis tow floats are required .
