This intensive 1-day course in the Business of Film Production will give you an overview of the business of the film industry from start to finish.

You will be given an overview of film production fundamentals, the hierarchy on-set, scheduling and budgeting as well as emerging international legal and financial issues, taxation and tax relief and an overview of production insurance.

You will also explore financing sources, as well as sales and distribution issues and strategies.

A good understanding of the business practices of international filmmaking and production is essential for success in today’s market. This Business of Film course will enable you to grow your business, support your clients and make valuable contacts in the film industry. You will gain instruction and insights from Kieran Corrigan, a working producer and film financier, supported by his team of experienced, leading industry professionals.

Instructors:
Kieran Corrigan: Kieran is director of Merlin Films, a leading independent Irish film production company. Kieran has collaborated with award-winning and world-famous film directors John Boorman and Roger Corman for over 25 years. He has produced and arranged the financing for a significant number of international motion pictures, including The General, The Tailor of Panama and Queen and Country. Most recently Kieran was Executive Producer on Supervized and We Have Always Lived In The Castle.

Trisha Flood: Trisha is a graduate of the National Film School in IADT where she speciailised in Production and Screenwriting. She then completed her masters in Digital Film Production at Staffordshire University. Trisha has been working as a freelance producer, line producer and tutor for over ten years. During this time she has gained extensive experience in the area and has produced a number of successful shorts, commercials, feature films and TV series which have been screened at numerous festivals across Europe and the US and been broadcast on the likes of the BBC, Netflix and RTE. She currently works as the Production Executive of the Emma award winning production company Deadpan Pictures.

What's the refund policy?

Cancellations

Unless the course or masterclass or event is cancelled by Irish Film School, a 20% processing fee will be incurred.

Refunds

Within 10 calendar days of the course start date, or in the event of non-attendance, refunds will not be given.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Can I update my registration information?

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Re-scheduling

Unless the course is re-scheduled by Irish Film School, a 10% processing fee will be incurred. Payment may only be transferred to the next instance of the same programme.

In the event of the participant wishing to transfer a booking to an alternative date, the participant must notify us by email (info@irishfilmschool.com) more than 7 days prior to the commencement of the course. Every effort will be made on our behalf to accommodate the request. However, this will be subject to availability and at the discretion of Irish Film School.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes - you can gift your ticket if you are unable to attend on the day.
