As part of Vandeleur Festival Kilrush 2023, Vandeleur Walled Garden are excited to host The Kilfenora Céilí Band open air céilí this summer.

Expect an exhilarating, uplifting and vibrant performance from Ireland's oldest céilí band. The legendary group boasts beautiful songs, traditional rhythmic tunes, and witty banter.

They feature cello, flutes, banjo, fiddles, accordion, concertina and bass in what Sharon Shannon calls "Fantastic, feel-good, happy, lively music".

The event also features PJ Murrihy, the much-loved singer-songwriter from Co. Clare. He came to national prominence in the 80’s with his song Pat Murphy’s Meadow, and has since written songs recorded by prominent artists including Daniel O’ Donnell. His latest album, ‘Childhood Memories’ is a collection of songs both old and new which is quickly proving a firm favourite with audiences nationwide.

Note: As on-site parking is limited, we encourage attendees to park in the town centre and use the pedestrian access to the garden via Turret Lane. A shuttle bus service will also be available from the town centre.

About the organiser

Thriving behind old stone walls amongst 170 hectares of woodland near Kilrush in County Clare, the Vandeleur Walled Garden belonged to the Vandeleur family in the 19th century. The charming medley of plants provides a fascinating glimpse into the past. The garden specialises in flora that thrives in this unique microclimate. It also displays water features, a maze, giant chess, and a Victorian style glasshouse.
