About this Event

Irish nationalist writer Katharine Tynan was born in Clondalkin in 1859. Involved in the Irish Literary Revival, Tynan wrote about feminism, nationalism, poverty and the effects of World War I. She was a prolific writer, producing more than 100 novels, 12 collections of short stories, reminiscences, plays, and over a dozen books of poetry.

This interactive one-hour talk is an opportunity to get to know the forgotten local legend that is Katherine Tynan. The talk will touch lightly on her life, and there will be plenty of time to delve into her writing with participants invited to read and discuss a small selection of her poems.
