About this event
Take your first steps into the world of spoken word with this beginners workshop combining play, poetry and performance. Spoken word is both an exciting response to the moment we live in now and an echo of the older world before. This workshop aims to give you the tools to pin your moment of now rather than being trapped in by it.
Personal Bio
Cork-based Déisí, Alana Daly Mulligan is a multi-award-winning spoken word 'artivist', filmmaker & journalist.
Believing in the power of art for social change, Daly Mulligan has performed their poetry for anyone who will listen at bars, theatres, festivals and rallies from Cork to New York. Their short films have been featured on film festival programmes on both sides of the Atlantic.
Alana's words feature in Kathy D'Arcy's Autonomy, Solstice Sounds Vol: VI, UCC’s The Quarryman V, Motley Magazine, UCC University Express, UCC Independent Thinking and Ó'Bheal's 5-Words Vol XII.
Alana graduated in 2021 with a first-class honors degree in English and History from University College Cork. They are currently pursuing a Masters in Journalism and Digital Content Creation at Munster Technological University.
