Event description

Description

The 5th Annual Mulranny Stone Wall Festival takes place from the 10th to 12th May 2019. The festival will include an exciting programme of dry stone wall building, talks, demonstrations and a children's stone totem building competition. The festival is an official Dry Stone Wall Association of Ireland (DSWAI) event and joins the small list of prestigous DSWAI events held annually in Ireland.

Come along and learn the traditional craft of dry stone wall building from master stone masons Eoin Madigan and Eddie Farrelly.

Please Note: Safety footwear is mandatory for all participants and over 18s only.

Mulranny, Co. Mayo, is a hidden treasure of spectacular land and seascapes perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Mulranny offers stunning panoramic views over Clew Bay’s archipelago of drowned drumlin islands and the vast Nephin Mountain range. Mulranny is the current holder of the Gold Award for Best Destination for Responsible Tourism and the coveted Overall Winner Award both of which were presented at the Irish Responsible Tourism Awards held on the 5th of October in Dublin's Radison Blu Royal Hotel.
