The Festival Dry Stone Walling Workshops are supported by The Dry Stone Wall Association of Ireland (DSWAI).

Please Note: Safety footwear is mandatory for all participants and over 18s only. (Safety glasses and work gloves will be provided)
This year we have added an exciting new event - The Mulranny Stone Wall Festival 'Stone Mosaic Workshop'.
One day "Stone Mosaic Workshop". During this one day class using local stone for a mosaic, you will learn how to cut a variety of stone to make tesserae using a hammer and hardie. Classical principals that are used in the great mosaics of ancient times are practised for this project. You will also prepare a substrate and apply the hanging hardware prior to cementing the tesserae to your design.
All tools and materials included for a 10" x 8" substrate. Includes lunch. Class size limited to 5 people. Class time 10am - 4pm on Sunday the 15th of May.
Please note that the cost of the Mosaic Workshop does not include the Gala Dinner. (If you are booking the Mosaic Workshop and would like to attend the Gala Dinner it must be booked separately. Please contact us at mulrannymayo@gmail.com for details).
Mulranny, Co. Mayo, is a hidden treasure of spectacular land and seascapes perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Mulranny offers stunning panoramic views over Clew Bay’s archipelago of drowned drumlin islands and the vast Nephin Mountain range. Mulranny is the current holder of the Gold Award for Best Destination for Responsible Tourism and the coveted Overall Winner Award both of which were presented at the Irish Responsible Tourism Awards held on the 5th of October in Dublin's Radison Blu Royal Hotel.
