Dublins finest purveyors of Rock n’ Roll, The Riptide Movement celebrate the release of their highly anticipated forthcoming studio album “Ghosts” on Friday 21st October, with the release of first single “Elephant in the Room” (out 22nd July on Universal Music Ireland).
The new single, a rousing passionate, singalong anthem, is a return to form for the Dublin four piece, and precedes the highly anticipated new album “Ghosts”, released 21st October.
Speaking of the upcoming album release, Mal Tuohy explains,
“It has taken the best part of eighteen months to write and record ‘Ghosts’, a journey that began somewhere between the Caragh river and the Seefin mountains of Gleinbeigh and came to completion in Tornillo, Texas, thirty miles East of the Rio Grande, under the guidance of Grammy award winning producer Ted Hutt.
We feel it’s our greatest offering to date and we're so excited to finally get it out to the world. Lead single 'Elephant in the room' is a personal favourite from the album and a song we feel is a strong representation of our album 'Ghosts' as a collective, cohesive body of work”.
Having blown the Irish music scene wide open in 2014 with their Number One, gold-selling album ‘Getting Through’, a string of Top 10 singles and various sold-out headline tours, the four piece – comprising Malachy Tuohy (vocals, piano and guitar), John Dalton (guitar), Gerry McGarry (bass & harmonica) and Gar Byrne (drums & percussion) – have also announced a headline show at Cyprus Avenue to mark the release of their new album.
'It’s been an amazing two years since we released our third studio album 'Getting through' with so many highs to recall - from our first # 1 Gold selling album, to touring the UK, Europe and Australia, to our first main stage appearance at Electric Picnic - it has really been an incredible journey for us', says Mal.
