Talk Summary

There is still a lot of information about how sleep affects the brain that we don’t yet understand. We do know that sleep has restorative, cognitively-enhancing effects. We also know the absence of sleep can have detrimental effects on brain function. That is why I am hosting my upcoming webinar masterclass: ‘The Sleep and Brain Connection: Improve your Brain Health, Memory and Performance with Better Sleep’, 2nd June 7pm (BST)

If you want a good quality of life with good brain health, performance and long-lasting memories, then register for this upcoming masterclass. I look forward to seeing you there.

Without sleep you can’t form or maintain the pathways in your brain that let you learn and create new memories, and it’s harder to concentrate and respond quickly.

Sleep is important to a number of brain functions, including how nerve cells (neurons) communicate with each other. In fact, your brain and body stay remarkably active while you sleep. Recent findings suggest that sleep plays a housekeeping role that removes toxins in your brain that build up while you are awake.

…And increasing new data have suggested that disrupted sleep may accelerate the degenerative process in conditions such as Alzheimer dementia and Parkinson disease.
