About this event
Ballymun Library will host a public lecture by Dr. James Curry (DCC Historian in Residence) on the remarkable sporting life of Patrick O'Connell. Born and raised in Drumcondra, O'Connell went on to play professional football in England for the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City and Manchester United. After retirement he emigrated to Spain in the early 1920s and managed several leading clubs, including FC Barcelona and Real Betis FC.
