Description

Join us for our upcoming workshop - The Student Journey: Developing tools to support Student Success in Higher Education - as part of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education funded National Seminar Series.

The HEA have directed each higher education institution to have a Student Success Strategy in place by 2020. Are you ready?

This highly participative workshop will allow attendees to explore what supporting Student Success in and through Higher Education might look like in the context of a student lifecycle and whole-of-institution approach to an effective student success strategy.

Our workshop we explore three interconnected themes:

Student Transitions:

  • Plotting the student journey from start to finish including key milestones, possible detours and obstacles along the way.

  • Strategies for student success: examples of best practice for supporting student academic transitions

Supporting student transitions:

  • Developing appropriate initiatives on your campus to support student transitions between academic stages.

Empowering student success:

  • Concrete steps and approaches to best enable development of a deliverable student success strategy.

What a strategy might look like, what should be in it and who should be involved in writing it?

Our workshop will also include a Design Thinking Session with Dr Martin Ryan, Product Design Programme Director at Maynooth University.
