The Sunday Rollover: 7th of February 2021
Event Information
About this event
This week, we welcome Bláithín de Burca, Jack McKenna, Saoirse Smyth, Seán Marshall and Reggie Pollock for an evening of lunacy and laughter, live in your living room. Sinéad Walsh will be wearing her Sunday Best (a recently purchased Dunnes Stores hoodie) and be your host for the evening.
Another Online Comedy Night?
Not quite.
As you know, the Pandemic has left the live arts and events industry in a bad way. Which means, it has left artists, comedians, musicians up a particular creek without the required paddle. Not only has it left many of them without any way of earning income, it has also meant that a lot of brilliant ideas have been left behind too because they have nowhere to flourish and grow.
For these reasons and more, I introduce:
The Sunday Rollover.
Each Sunday at 7:30pm, we will bring some wonderful comedians so you can enjoy from the comfort and safety of your own living room (or bed, we don’t judge).
They will be trying out new things, reworking their genius bits and generally testing things out on you, our wonderful audience. We cannot guarantee sanity or reason, but we can guarantee a barrel full of laughs for the evening.
Because of this, we will be selecting a few lucky attendees to be in the front row 😏
You’ll be watching via Zoom and we’ll be able to see and hear you. This is what we’ll base our ticks and crosses on when running through our new stuff. The laughs and claps from those in the ‘front row’ will be what we hear. Think of it as jury duty, but for comedy!
Your beautiful laughter and applause will really help the comedians. So if you’d like to be in the front row, make sure you’re a laugher and not a smiler. It’ll be a lot of fun. We can’t wait. (Also a heads up that we may have to mute you if you have audio issues or you’re talking).
If you would like to be in the front row, all you have to do is buy your ticket and send me a message letting me know you’re interested, and I will email you on Sunday to let you know if you've been selected.
Funds raised from ticket sales will be split evenly amongst the comedians every week. All comedians have had all of their work wiped out for the foreseeable future so if you can afford it, consider throwing a bit more in the pot. We’ll have a link with our PayPal account if you’d like to donate a little extra.
If you can only afford the €3, that’s totally fine. Just keep coming back. We’re doing this every week and need an audience every Sunday!
