The 2nd Terence MacSwiney Weekend at Independence Museum Kilmurry will focus on the theme of education and the revolutionary generation

About this Event

Friday 18th 7.30 pm- Opening Address by Dr Cathal MacSwiney Brugha at St Mary's Church, Kilmurry (Free & Open to Public) followed by Reception at Independence Museum.

Saturday 19th - Registration 10.30 am. 11 am Welcoming Address followed by Lecture on Annie & Mary MacSwiney: Revolutionary Educators by Anne Twomey 11.50 am - Lissarda to Limerick: Kate O'Callaghan TD & Mayor Maire O'Donovan by Dr Sinead McCoole

12.50 pm Lunch & Exhibition Visits (Both included in ticket price)

14.00 pm - Student, Teacher & Propagandist: Terence MacSwiney by Niall Murray 14.40 pm - Terence MacSwiney, Idealism & Gaelic Ireland by Dr Neil Buttimer

Sunday, 20th - 10 am Mass in Irish at St Mary's Church, Kilmurry (Free & Open to Public) followed at 11.30pm by Walking Tour of Macroom with Niall Murray who will discuss Revolutionary Government in Mid Cork (1919 - 1922)
