About this event

THE THREE PROPHETS LIVE

Following a critically-acclaimed run of performances in Maynooth, The Three Prophets are embarking upon their first headline show in the Workman's Cellar.

Performing over twenty of their greatest hits, accompanied by a spectacle of dance, fashion, and performance art, this is a gig not to be missed for those interested in the evolving Irish music landscape.

The Prophets formed in Trim, Meath in 2018, making obtuse, abrasive and unpleasant music in a series of EPs, arguably forming their own genre, referred as both Experimental Opera or Prophetism.

Following this shaky start, the Prophets quickly realised that the market for objectively bad music was not as crowd-pleasing as they had hoped. Learning quickly, and applying many tormented hours of musical study and production practice into their work, they finally released their magnum opus (to date), in the form of 2020's Empty Vessels.

This ambitious concept album told the story of a vicious alien who befriends the Prophets and collaborates with them, ultimately betraying them and sentencing them to an eternity of despair.

The album features the inclusion of many eclectic genres, such as synth-pop, new jack swing, hip-hop, trap, classical, samba, funk, soul, house and disco.

Releasing subsequent singles, including a Christmas lullaby, which debuted on RTÉ radio, the Prophets plan to continue this saga of time travel and genre jumping on their upcoming album, Feasting On Thy Mortal Flesh (expected to be released at some stage within the next decade).

Their live show features a combination of song, dance, rap, DJing and possibly, (in no way guaranteed) [not at all] {but maybe!} some sean-nós dancing.

Attendance is highly recommended for all who want to experience this event which is guaranteed to be like nothing you have ever witnessed before!
